Paddlit

Every step of the way

We never touch the money. Not for a second.

Every ticket, pledge and gift is paid into your organisation's own account with a certified payment processor, and from there into your bank. Paddlit never holds, pools or pays out your money, and never takes a percentage of it. We're paid by your subscription, separately.

The path the money takes

  • Your guest's card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
  • A certified payment processor, on an account in your organisation's name. It checks the card, keeps the card number safe, and pays the money out to you.
  • Your bank, usually about two working days after each payment, on the processor's standard schedule.

Paddlit isn't in that path. We run your pages, your night and your receipts, but there's no settlement from us to wait for.

What each payment costs

Only the payment processor's card fee: 2.9% + 30¢ a payment, or 2.2% + 30¢ once a nonprofit whose status is confirmed is approved for the lower rate. Paddlit adds nothing on top. Donors paying on your pages can tick a box to cover the fee, so the full amount reaches you.

Setting it up

An owner sets up payments once, in Organisation settings, without leaving Paddlit: your organisation's details, your bank account and one responsible person. Your organisation is the seller, and refunds come from your account. Owners can see the payouts, and the last four digits of the bank account they go to.

How Paddlit is paid

By your plan's subscription, never by a share of what you raise. The plans and their prices are on the main page.

In practice

How it plays out

A $1,000 pledge

  1. A guest's $1,000 pledge is charged to their card on file the morning after.
  2. The payment processor's fee comes out of it, and the rest goes to your organisation's account.
  3. It arrives in your bank about two working days later. Paddlit takes nothing from it.
