Your online store can live at your own address, like store.yourorganisation.org, instead of a Paddlit link. Buyers see your name in the address bar and a secure padlock. You add two records where your web address is managed, and Paddlit finds them, sets up the padlock and puts your store there by itself.
An add-on: $15 a month plus $199 to set up with the online store, on Free, Standard or Pro.See the plans
Give the address in Plan & billing, under your add-ons. It's a subdomain of your own website, like store.yourorganisation.org or shop.yourorganisation.org.
Add two records where your web address is managed, often where you bought it or your web host: one points the address at Paddlit, the other shows it's yours. Paddlit shows them to you, ready to copy.
Paddlit does the rest. It looks for your records every minute while it's being set up, sets up the secure padlock, and emails you when your store is live there. It usually takes a few minutes to an hour.
Your main address (yourorganisation.org itself, and www) can't point at Paddlit, so it stays with your website. Each organisation has one address for its store.
What shows there
Your whole store: the front page, every product, the bag, checkout and each buyer's order page, all at your address.
Apple Pay and Google Pay work there too, registered with your organisation's own payment account.
Links you've already shared to your store's Paddlit address move to your own address by themselves, and emails about orders link to it.
Search engines see your address as the store's home, with its own sitemap of your products while your store is open.
Only the store is there. Signing in, your organisers' screens and everything else stay at Paddlit, and while your store is closed you and your store helpers still preview it at its Paddlit address.
If something changes
If a record goes missing, your store carries on at its Paddlit address and the owners get one email saying so. Put it back and your store returns to your address by itself.
Only you can use your address. Nobody else on Paddlit can set it up, because only the organisation that runs it can add the record that shows it's theirs.
If you turn it off, or remove the address, your store goes back to its Paddlit address. For 30 days every page at your address forwards to the same page there, so links and printed codes keep working, then it's removed.
What it costs
$15 a month, plus a one-time setup charge of $199. It's an add-on to the online store ($60 a month), on Free, Standard or Pro. The Event Pass doesn't include add-ons.
The setup charge isn't refunded, and isn't charged again if you turn the address back on within a year. You can turn it off any time: straight away, or at the end of the month you've paid for.
In practice
How it plays out
A store at its own address
An owner turns on Your own web address and types store.theirorganisation.org.
They add the two records Paddlit shows them, at the company that runs their website.
A few minutes later the owners get an email: the store is live at store.theirorganisation.org, with its own padlock.
The QR code on last year's flyer still works: the old Paddlit link now opens the store at their own address.
